The importance of images to your business

When it’s not something you have personal experience in developing, it’s easy for business folk such as yourself to underestimate the importance of good graphic design, in terms of helping your business develop. This is mostly due to the fact we’ve grown so used to imagery in advertising: as part of the average website, on the giant billboard you walk past every day etc, that we don’t question why they are there in the first place. Or how they worm their way into your mind.

Imagery is about as important to a business as the product you are selling. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and they’re not wrong. People respond more strongly to an image than they ever have to the written word, which might be why a person is more likely to opt for visual entertainment like watching TV, playing a game of poker the Partypoker website, or going to the movies, instead of reading a book. How does graphic design work for your business, you might ask?

Lets stick with the above poker example to explain. Imagine you’ve decided to create and run a brand new poker website. It’s going to specialise in Texas Hold’em but there’s going to be a twist to your version to make game-play better. The idea is to attract as many poker enthusiasts as you can to the website, so they can play whenever the fancy takes them. Unfortunately listing all the merits and qualities your new site will have, won’t capture the imagination of internet users, because it feels like an overload of information. They won’t want to read a chunk of text.

When you team that information up with imagery though, your audience is more likely to be receptive to the website you are selling, because it breaks it up for them. For example, a web design which has poker iconography such as poker chips, and a deck of cards rearranged into a winning hand on its banner, will inform casual browsers of the site’s content before they’ve even read anything. An effective logo with a catchy name is aided by imagery which help it stand out and become a recognizable trademark of the website.

Images effect the brain more than words, which is why services like ours are so important. Poker is a competitive market on the internet, along with most other business opportunities, and we can help make sure the design of your website, advertising, business cards and logos grab potential customers attention before anyone else gets a look in.

That’s the power of images.
